About the workBarnaby Evans’ photographs belong to the New Topographics movement – a style characterised by a different perspective on landscapes altered by human activity. In Evans’ work, house façades and warehouses enter into a dialogue with the colourfulness of their surroundings. The images are divided into monochrome planes and emphasise the materiality of the buildings. Although Evans’ pictures are devoid of people, they document the traces of civilisation. Abandoned stretches of road sweep by from the perspective of a passing car.
