About the workThe “Ericofon” telephone model was nicknamed “Cobra” because of its appearance, which is reminiscent of a snake poised to attack. The set was created by Ralph Lysell, who gained fame in the 1940s with his streamlined car bodies. The main contributor to the phone’s success was its compact design. The dial was located in the base with a large pressure switch in the middle: this automatically made contact with the outside line as soon as you lifted the device and disconnected again once you put it back.
