About the workIn 1962, the foundations were laid for contemporary glass art. In Toledo, USA, artists and technologists gathered to try out glassmaking in the studio. In Stuttgart, the sculptor and painter Erwin Eisch exhibited the results of his experiments, which, in many respects, corresponded to the American endeavours. Eisch had created these works in his family’s glassworks in Frauenau. That same year, the American artist Harvey Littleton visited him there, and Eisch became an international role model in the evolution of the studio glass movement.
