About the workColoured planes and linear structures convey a sense of depth. Is the figure at the centre of the picture the "Hunter Douglas" mentioned in the title? Thomas Scheibitz’s art is characterised by the combination of illusory and abstract elements. He uses an extensive image archive with motifs from advertising, comics and photographs. His creative process begins with sketches, which he transfers into free forms, simplifying and thereby detaching them from their original meaning. The result is a realistic impression that still leaves room for interpretation.
