on display, room G 17 About the workBrightly coloured, simple outlines, but lots of character: the series of five “chicks” by Vetreria Vistosi anticipates what we would call “art toys” today—toy-like collector’s items. The Venetian architect Alessandro Pianon designed them a few years after he created the Vetreria Vistosi company logo in 1956. The glassworks was founded by Guglielmo Vistosi in 1945 and passed into the hands of his brother and sons in 1952. Its speciality was lighting fixtures and still is today, after the brand was sold to the Moretti family in the 1980s.
