on display, room G13 About the workThe sculptor Jan Fišar was capable of creating soft and flowing forms from an inherently brittle and cold substance. Apart from a slight tinge of green, the glass is flawless, without streaks or bubbles. The fact that the outlines are still apparent is due to the reflections of the dark base plate. Fišar obtained this high-quality special glass in the form of large ingots, which he sawed open lengthwise and shaped in his furnace. The strenuous work of cutting and polishing the material was done by his assistant, Jiří Jelinek.
