About the workWhat do oak leaves, deer and a church have in common? After studying at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, Stefan Kürten lived in the USA. This work is part of a series created during this time in which the artist explored clichés about German culture. The "educational panels" are reminiscent of those once used in geography or biology lessons. For Kürten, these overviews are deceptive: no clear answers can be derived from the supposed clarity of the scheme.
