About the workThe bubble in the glass often recurs in Seguso’s works. Barely ten years earlier, he had created depictions of embryos floating in glass. His fascination with the development of the unborn seems to lead to an exploration of the creative power of the artist himself. He always gave his works titles. This work is the exception—or is “Senza Titolo”, Untitled, meant as a reference to the indescribable? In the 1960s, Livio Seguso was a master glassmaker at Salviati, Murano’s most traditional glass company. In 1968, he set up his own studio.
