About the workSuse Wiegand's artistic work centres on everyday objects and found items. In her pictures, various objects merge together against a neutral, light-coloured background. The chosen papers, such as soft, crumpled tissue paper, make the sheets appear simultaneously soft and brittle. Born in Düsseldorf, she studied at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1978 to 1985. She moved to London in 1986 to study at the Slade School of Fine Art and five years later was awarded a prize for outstanding artistic achievement by the City of Düsseldorf.
