About the workOn this vase, the structures that made such a distinctive glass design possible can be seen. Like many other merchant houses around 1900, Bakalowits in Vienna did not limit itself to dealing with existing products, but employed its own design studio. Its close collaboration with the Lötz glass factory began in 1891. Robert Holubetz, a student of the Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna workshops) designer Koloman Moser, devised the shape of the vessel for Bakalowits. The item was produced by Lötz with a range of decorative finishes and then distributed by Bakalowits.
