About the workLambert Krahe’s collection contains more than 500 drawings by the Baroque artist Carlo Maratti. The studies exhibited here are preparatory sketches for paintings. Maratti ran a large workshop with many assistants in Rome, where he was president of the art academy and one of the most important figures in the local art and culture scene. His patrons included seven popes, the imperial house of the Holy Roman Empire, the King of France and many ecclesiastical and secular dignitaries
