not on displayChewy like caramel or sticky like candy: the vividly coloured glass objects by Danish-Swedish artist Maria Bang Espersen appear soft and malleable – yet are cold and rigid. For her "Soft" series, she heats the material to temperatures of up to 900°C. She then pulls, folds and twists the glowing mass into shape. This process creates fine layers on the surface that trap air. These layers reflect the light, producing a metallic sheen. Through this experimental approach, Bang Espersen offers a new perspective on glass and its creative possibilities.
