About the workThe glasses represent a goldsmith’s foray into glass art. Ebbe Weiss-Weingart was a pioneer of author jewellery in the 1950s and 60s, creating unique pieces of artistic jewellery. Erwin Eisch was a pioneer of studio glass art, which spread from the USA to Europe from 1962. In 1973, Weiss-Weingart began experimenting with glass design in Erwin Eisch’s studio in Frauenau. Through Christianne Weber-Stöber, formerly of the Goldschmiedehaus Hanau, Ulrike Heberling-Weingart donated five glasses from the artist’s estate to the Kunstpalast.
