Post-1945

The post-war paintings in the collection are predominantly from the international Düsseldorf art scene, which was shaped by social and political influences. Works by Jörg Immendorff, Gerhard Richter and Rissa enter into dialogue with European and American painting, represented by David Hockney, Ellsworth Kelly and Merrill Wagner. Many of the works are from the Kemp Collection, a donation by the Düsseldorf collector Willi Kemp.
