Academy Collection

In 1778, the artist Lambert Krahe, the first director of the Düsseldorf Art Academy, laid the foundation of these holdings with his collection of drawings for students. Since 1932, the Academy Collection has been on permanent loan to the Kunstpalast; it now comprises more than 40,000 drawings, prints, paintings and sculptures.
