About the workThe architect and designer Angelo Mangiarotti developed this futuristic, sculptural table clock. Under the shock-resistant plastic cover is a clock mechanism based on a transistor circuit, a technology invented in the USA in the 1940s. This purely electronic circuit not only led to technological change in areas such as radio technology, but also in the field of timekeeping in the 1950s. The battery-powered transistor control had the advantage of being very precise and not subject to wear and tear.
