on display, room 018.4 About the workWhen Peter Behrens took up his position as artistic advisor for the AEG Group in 1907, he discovered modern production facilities but outdated forms of products. His task was to reconcile this discrepancy in line with the new corporate philosophy, which was to become clearly evident in AEG’s overall image in terms of both design and marketing. This included the concretisation and simplification of design as well as ensuring clear recognisability as an AEG product through the integration of the logo, as evidenced by this fan.
