on display, room 027 About the workOnly at second glance does a landscape of sparse, wildly growing branches reveal itself. Painted in warm colours, the trees bear the fruits of autumn. Born in Solingen, Georg Meistermann studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Heinrich Nauen and Ewald Mataré until 1933. During the Second World War, he worked as a drawing teacher at a grammar school. After being called up for military service for a few months, he continued to pursue his artistic activities in secret. After the end of the war, his work was shown in numerous exhibitions.
