About the workThe detail on this item of glassware has not been cut into the outside but rather the inside of the bowl, which creates an unusual optical effect. Around the Mediterranean, bowls of this type were very popular – almost a mass product: during an excavation in Tel Anafa, Israel, the remains of 6000 such vessels were found. The shape is inspired by Greek ceramic bowls that were modelled on the female breast.
