About the workSilicon wafers are the raw material used to make computer chips. Johannes Raimann has carved ancient star maps into the so-called 'wafers' and replaced the stars with references to satellites and space debris. The commercial use of outer space means that more and more telecommunications satellites will be in orbit in the future. As early as 1978, astronomer Donald J. Kessler warned of the increase in space debris that could make space travel impossible. Light pollution is making it harder to see the night sky, threatening our view of the stars.
