About the workNature is the principal motif in Monika von Boch’s oeuvre. Through her targeted intervention, organic pictorial objects become abstracted. As a representative of Subjective Photography, she recorded her observations in artistic snapshots. In keeping with the new visual language that was typical of the movement, the focus was not on the faithful reproduction of reality, but rather an individual’s perception of the world. Von Boch’s work is characterised by technical experimentation combined with an aesthetic approach to natural forms and structures.
