Place of originEhrenfeld
About the workIt takes a lot of skill not to spill liquid over yourself with this glass. Because of the cavities, the drink spills out in spurts. Trying to drink from it without becoming annoyed or irritated was a popular pastime at noble festivities for centuries. It is likely that the “Department for Artistic Products” at the Ehrenfeld glass factory faithfully imitated a similar glass from the sixteenth or seventeenth century. A great deal of effort was required to develop and select the appropriate colour. The slight green-grey tint corresponds to glass from the era of the original model.
