on display, room G13 About the workThis shell was first blown to form a hollow body in a glassworks. The sculptor Jan Fišar continued the creative process in his workshop: he sawed it open and shaped it in his furnace. He then burned patterned or coloured foils into the glass; in the final step, the edges were ground and polished. In the 1980s and 1990s, Fišar produced various groups of works, including these shells.
