About the workIn 2021, during the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, dolphins were reportedly spotted in the canals of Venice. This may have been more common before the motorisation of shipping. The design of the Venetian gondolas refers to these animals, which have always been valued for their speed and friendly disposition. Antonio da Ros began his design work for Gino Cenedese’s glassworks in 1958, one year after graduating, and remained loyal to the glassworks as artistic director from then on.
