not on displayBeginning in the 1950s, the architect and designer Florence Knoll set new standards with her functional furniture concepts. Her numerous designs included this sofa from the "Lounge Collection" for the Knoll Furniture Company, where she began working as an interior designer in 1943. In 1946, she married the company founder Hans G. Knoll. The couple complemented each other: he was an outstanding businessman who achieved great success with the production of furniture by international designers, and she was an excellent creator whose works played a key role in shaping the company's image.
