About the workLight fills the dark streets. Street lamps are lined up in a row. In front of a house, a figure can be seen under a red lamp: a sailor with a signal flag protruding from his loins. He points his finger at a pink gate. It is not clear where it leads. Alternative worlds open up in Tal R’s works, places where the familiar seems strange. The darker meaning behind these colourful motifs is often only revealed at second glance. The Danish artist born as Tal Rosenzweig draws inspiration from his surroundings as well as from history and art history.
