About the workShusaku Arakawa’s artistic oeuvre deals with human perception and consciousness. The Japanese-born artist combined painting and graphic elements with systems of words and signs to produce formulaic works. They provide insight into the reflections of the artist, who would creatively test the limits of thought and blend scientific procedures with philosophical approaches. The theme of this picture is the significance of forgetting, the fading of memories over the course of a human life.
