Spatial Sculpture
Steel, silver bronze
(H x W x D)60 × 38 × 57 cm
About the workThis work consists of six wires made of steel and silver bronze. Norbert Kricke soldered them together and dynamically bent them in various directions, giving the impression of a shapeless tangle of wires. They can also be interpreted as drawn lines in space. The sculpture has no centre and does not represent a figure – instead, it resembles a three-dimensional "action painting", an abstract form of painting that was prevalent in the United States in the mid-1950s.
