About the workIn a figurative sense, light plays a double game: it passes through space weightlessly, yet it contains energy and renders things visible. From the 1960s onwards, the Krefeld artist Adolf Luther devoted his work to light. To him, it was the source of all images, as can be seen in this object. Arranged in a grid, the inwardly curved surfaces reflect the location in slightly offset sections. They offer single, inverted views of the room, which are shifted piece by piece. This creates countless variations of reality.
