About the workThis armchair by the Berlin artist and designer Stiletto is original and provocative, yet perfectly suitable for sitting. Inspired by readymade art, in which found objects are declared works of art, Stiletto took a used shopping trolley – the symbol of our consumer society par excellence – and transformed it into a chair. Ironically, he asked consumers to take a seat on it after they had finished their shopping. He addressed the issue of mass consumption by encouraging the subverted use of a “shopping basket on wheels” with subtle humour.
