About the workThe sculpture is probably one of the earliest that Raoul Goldoni created in collaboration with glassmakers in Murano. The Croatian painter and graphic artist had become acquainted with the Venetian glass scene during his visit to the 28th Venice Biennale in 1956. That year, he himself had worked as a designer for Yugoslavia’s largest glassworks in Rogaška Slatina, Slovenia. This sculpture was realised by the Muranese master glassmaker Alfredo Barbini. The choice of colours bears his signature and shows that the work was a genuine collaborative effort.
