About the workWhen the artist Rosemarie Trockel first saw an artwork by Lea Lenhart in 2004, she gave two pieces of advice to the student at the Düsseldorf Art Academy; she would often be told that it her art was decorative and she should never listen to that. Instead, she should "take beauty to such an extreme that it becomes unbearable". Lenhart continues to work with glass beads, which she began during her studies, in her Düsseldorf studio. She creates pieces using her own beads as well as glass fragments. For this installation, she also used mosaic glass beads by glass artist Daniela Müller.
