About the workIn 2004, Sophie Calle received a break-up email from her partner at the time, which ended with the formal sentence "Prenez soin de vous" (Take Care of Yourself). Instead of replying, the artist turned her ex-boyfriend’s letter into a conceptual series of the same name. Calle translated the letter into Braille and shorthand, among other versions, as can be seen here. She also asked 107 women from different professions to reinterpret her former partner’s farewell letter.
