About the workThis radically minimalist dining room furniture was created by Jacobus Johannes Pieter Oud for the row of houses he designed as part of the Weissenhof estate in Stuttgart. The housing and design project was realised in 1927 by renowned representatives of international modernism under the direction of Bauhaus teacher Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Within just five months, 21 buildings comprising a total of 63 dwellings were built in a style that was exceptionally progressive, sober and functional for the time. In 2016, two of the buildings on the architectural estate were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
