1900 – 1945

A major focal point is the Brücke artists’ group, including drawings and woodcuts by Erich Heckel, Emil Nolde and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. Groups of works by Max Beckmann, Conrad Felixmüller, Paul Klee, Marie Laurencin and others also bear witness to the development of graphic art. In addition, the collection contains extensive holdings of pieces by Walter Ophey as well as Lotte B. Prechner, who belonged to the Junges Rheinland (Young Rhineland) association.
