The Düsseldorf School of Photography
The artist couple Bernd and Hilla Becher founded the “Artistic Photography” department at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1978. Their teaching was defined by both a factual and conceptual visual language. Among the best-known graduates were Andreas Gursky, Candida Höfer, Tata Ronkholz, Thomas Ruff and Petra Wunderlich.
