Textiles

The origins of the textile collection go back to the Kunstgewerbemuseum in 1883. A variety of textiles from Europe, the Middle East and Asia are represented with examples including robes, tapestries and headwear. There is a special emphasis on Coptic garments from the third to the eighth century, which were Upper Egyptian grave finds.
