on display, room 039Aurel Dahlgrün's work is characterised by the intensive observation of moments, changes and cycles. He uses artistic means to visualise natural phenomena: The formation and disappearance of air bubbles when breathing in and out, for instance, provides the inspiration for the study of a circle. The 2018 Ehrenhof Prize winner was born in Berlin and grew up on a small lake in Sweden. Water, fish farming, diving and close contact with nature defined his daily life and are now the inspiration for his artworks, which oscillate between photography, installation and printmaking.
