About the workKatharina Grosse’s art is all about colour. This outdoor sculpture is reminiscent of an oversized oval shard, a fragment of a larger structure. Seemingly weightless, the enormous sculpture leans against the façade of the Kunstpalast. Using air spray guns, Grosse painted a colourful composition that looks like a rounded mass of colour due to the curvature of the surface and forms a strong visual contrast to the austere architecture of the building.
