About the workUrsula Schultze-Bluhm was a self-taught artist. Her first solo exhibition was held at the Zimmergalerie Franck in Frankfurt am Main in 1954; in the same year, the French artist Jean Dubuffet discovered her work for his museum in Paris. In 1955, she married the painter Bernard Schultze, with whom she shared a studio in Frankfurt. The artist’s pictures tell cryptic fairy tales in which people, animals, plants and objects are transformed. Her colour etchings are made up of countless colourful lines and dots.
