About the workNicholas Krushenick is one of the few artists represented in the Kemp Collection whom Willi Kemp did not know personally. The collector first saw Krushenick’s works on the Cologne art market in 1967. The US painter based his pieces on line sketches. He then filled these sharply outlined areas with a colour palette of bright red, blue, yellow and white, limited to just a few tones. The black borders minimise the interactions between adjacent colours.
