MediumVideo, color, sound, 62:10 min
About the workFar Eastern music meets Beethoven and mingles with wild cries and throat sounds. In 1984, Nam June Paik and Joseph Beuys met at the S?getsu Hall in Tokyo for a unique concert. While the Korean media artist Paik improvised classical pieces on the concert grand piano, Beuys did not touch his piano. In his performance, he imitated a coyote that slowly transformed from an animal expressing itself through feral sounds into a human being uttering individual words.
