About the workThe special feature of this style of drinking vessel is the kinked handle. It is reminiscent of a mug, but it was used to drink wine. This type of vessel was widespread around 1500, but no other opaque red examples have been found to date. This glass colour was already very popular in Roman times, yet it always remained something of a peculiarity.
