About the workThis kitchen clock was developed by the artist and designer Max Bill together with his students at the Ulm School of Design on behalf of the Junghans clock factory. The most important formal principles here were optimal function and perfect legibility. That is why two easily distinguishable hands move around the circular dial. Below them is a wind-up egg timer with one-minute increments. The teardrop-like shape reflects the typical style of the 1950s with its kidney-shaped tables and streamlined household appliances.
