About the workThe vase was created in the year Émile Gallé died. While this great competitor left behind a company that was still very much in the turn-of-the-century style, the Daum brothers, also based in Nancy, kept a close eye on the times. Their glass factory did not strive for a pioneering role in the design of its products, but knew how to stand firm in the midst of gradual change and still exists today. With its strong colours, this vessel already foreshadows the 1910s and 1920s. Its designer, Henri Bergé, worked for Daum from 1895 to around 1930.
