on display, room 2. OG SonderausstellungMagda Kröner repeatedly painted poppy still lifes. In 1901, she succeeded in selling one of these motifs to the imperial family. In this painting, she moved the vase noticeably away from the center of the composition to create a sense of dynamism. In addition, color plays a more important role in her work than the realistic depiction of form. In comparison to still lifes from previous generations of artists, where accuracy was paramount, Kröner’s modernity becomes evident.
