About the workUsing a pen with a diamond point, the master glassmaker carved his signature under the base of the vase: “Archimede / Biennale 1954”. Seguso made this vase himself at the furnace and exhibited it at the biennial exhibition of decorative arts in Venice. As a descendant of famous glassmakers, Archimede Seguso had received the best possible training in Murano, but began his career under the harsh conditions of the economic crisis in the early 1930s. He was still working in the glassworks he founded in 1947 around 1995.
