Cup with handle and three feet, ca. 9th-10th century AD
Blue glass, blown
(H x Ø)10,9 × 11,9 cm
About the workThe cup looks as if it is sitting in a metal frame with a striking handle and feet. It was presumably modelled on similar vessels made of silver, although no comparable examples have been found to date. Due to the weathering, you can barely tell that there is a thread detail around the body of the cup. The cup is not archaeologically complete, which means that the original height of the mouth can no longer be precisely determined.
