on display, room G 11 About the workHumour and irony are hallmarks of Riccardo Dalisi’s glasswork. On this object, tied up like a sack, a cheeky face invites a smile. At the same time, the work demonstrates how the Italian architect and designer reinterpreted the traditional material of glass with wit and a spirit of experimentation. Using craft techniques such as free-blowing, he created spontaneous, lively forms that gave his objects their distinctive character. In the 1970s, Dalisi was one of the co-founders of “Global Tools”, an experimental design movement.
