About the workWith their nakedness, the stripping away of exuberant decoration, the glasses of the art dealer and glassworks operator Giacomo Cappellin stood out from the traditional production in Murano from 1921 onwards. Now, around 1927, the decoration returned to clear forms. Red stripes were melted onto the glass and warped with a tool to create a palm branch-like fan. At the time, Carlo Scarpa was working as an architect and designer for Cappellin. The products were sold under the company name, so it is often not possible to precisely attribute the designs.
